The Planning Commission's Official Public Hearing will be held:

Tuesday, October 4, 2011
1:00PM and 6:00pm (choose the time that works best for you)
Public Meeting Room: 9901 Lori Road

On January 12, 2011, after an 18 month review by the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, a draft new comprehensive plan, "Chesterfield Countywide Comprehensive Plan, 2011" was presented by the professional consultants and planning staff at a joint meeting of the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and School Board. The draft plan is currently under review by the Chesterfield County Planning Commission, and a revised planning commission draft was released in September, 2011.

The link below will take you to the website where you can review the draft plan. The county staff has posted a "Clean" version and a "Markup" version. The "Markup" version shows the changes the Planning Commission has made to the Plan. One point of importance: The 1/6/11 draft was crafted with a vision that was developed by many citizens of Chesterfield working in cooperation with the professional consultants and staff, and was approved during the joint meeting noted above. That vision (and the key elements that supported it) have been striped from the revised 9/6/11 draft.

As required by law, The Plan has been posted in the Legal Ad section of The Chesterfield Observer. You can find the Main Differences between the 1/6/11 and the 9/6/11 drafts on page 35 of both the 9/21/11 and 9/28/11 editions of The Chesterfield Observer.

These important changes may also be found by following the link below. The Main Differences between the 1/6/11 draft and the 9/6/11 draft begin about 1/2 to 3/4 down the page:

Come on out this evening to hear the presentation! You are welcome to share your thoughts on the draft Comprehensive Plan this evening, during the public hearings...Or both!

Although this meeting offers a good opportunity for Brandermill residents to hear the presentation, and/or ensure any desired changes are implemented into the plan, The Planning Commission will hold their official public hearing as noted above prior to sending their recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. We will post details to the blog as soon as possible.
