BCA Discussions on Committee Structures

Posted October 31, 2008 at 1:02 PM
The BCA Board is presently considering a change in Brandermill's committee structures and has asked for input from residents. BCA committees are an integral part in the community achieving goals and initiatives of the Board. Previously committees were governed by their charters, which were annually reviewed and approved (usually in June) by the Board.

Two of three documents now being considered are to be applicable to all committees, while a third - the committee's charter - will be more specific to a particular committee. The two general documents are:

  • BCA General Committee Policies (revised November 5, 2008)
  • BCA Organizational Structure as approved by the Board on September 2, 2008 (revised November 5, 2008)

As the BCA Board has requested feedback, the NRC asks its members for feedback so that we may submit their thoughts to the proposed changes to the NRC Charter (revised November 6, 2008). It is anticipated that the BCA Board will vote on these documents at their December 1 board meeting. No changes were proposed to the existing NRC by-laws. We thank all those who took the time and effort to submit feedback.

Universal pool access included in new master plan for Brandermill: In BCA Board Director Jason Livingston's presentation on universal pool access (UPA), it was reiterated that UPA will be added as a topic for community input in Brandermill's new master plan. The master plan process has begun; the Board has accepted the proposal from designforum, Inc. in response to the its RFP.

Wendy Parker, managing editor of The Village Mill, describes the master plan process in her article, In the works: new Brandermill master plan. Director Andrea Epps spearheads the master plan initiative. The NRC urges all residents to actively participate in the process and to offer feedback.
